This turn of the century, Craftsman style home, located near the Delmar Loop, was the ideal blank canvas to create a bold, yet cozy, and highly personalized abode. The Living Room walls were painted a warm white, and the historical woodwork was accentuated with a deep olive green. Our client's extensive, individualistic art collection was the basis for our color scheme that was predominantly olive and crimson. The stacked, snow colored Kitchen cabinets and rich olive trim and ceiling compliment the rest of the home, whilst giving the illusion of a wide-open space in an otherwise pint-sized Kitchen. The most challenging aspect of this design was creating a functional Kitchen with minimal space to work with. The efficiency aspect was realized by swapping the fridge and stove positions, in which we created a distinctive cooking nook. We continued the cabinets to the ceiling, which allowed for more storage while also creating the illusion of height. Initially, a rolling island was centered in the space, topped with reclaimed butcher block from an old bowling alley floor. We refinished and incorporated the butcher block into the counter top as a custom cutting board, perfect for food preparation. Because of the relocation of appliances, we were able to place the pantry beside the fridge, which allowed for an inconspicuous half bath. The new Powder Bathroom was accented in jade green, with intricate hand painted tile, and gold accents.

"Chelsea worked magic on my house, that I could not have imagined possible. She came highly recommended, and took the time to get to know me and what is important to me. She spent a lot of time determining what objects I loved. She then helped me see how they could fit together in a way that was more cohesive, more comfortable, and polished. Chelsea found room I did not know I had, where everything fits! I have never worked with a designer before, and nearly always been disappointed in my choices. I am 100% delighted with everything she did. She offered me options, let me think about her suggestions, and helped me make choices. She is creative, flexible, supportive, enthusiastic about her work, and loves helping her clients turn their homes into places they love even more. If you aren't completely happy with your home, talk to Chelsea. She will make it a place you love more than you could imagine!"
