Holliston House was a highly personalized project, tailored carefully and specifically to the client’s contrasting tastes and to the prospect of future sale. Built in 2001, the traditional two-story house was drenched in polished brass, pale yellow and oak accents. The colors chosen for the redesign were inspired by a decorative plate she cherished, but was neutralized with natural, tonal colors in favor of her husband’s aesthetic. Fresh paint and updates to lighting were specified in order to flow with the home's conservative style, while the furnishings, art, and accessories were hand-picked in order to contradict it. The majority of their first floor only required a re-imagination of existing pieces and simple enhancements to provoke metamorphosis. The largest transformation took place in the Living Room, where achromatic, metallic wallpaper was applied, the bookcases were painted a slate blue, and a fresh, modern travertine looking porcelain covered the existing brick fireplace. The Lower Level was also given a refresh by adding interesting trim details, new counter tops, and painting the existing cabinetry the same blue to reflect the Living Room. The end result is a thoughtfully curated collection of the couple's individual tastes and personalities that radiate warmth and sophistication.

"I would highly recommend Chelsea Elisabeth of Chelsea Design Co. for any residential design project! She handled every element of the design and installation process with complete professionalism while making the project a joy for my husband and I. She was respectful of our budget and divergent styles, showing us options that were true to the spirit of the design, which melded elements from both of our wish lists. We elected to grow our project substantially, because the process was so fantastic; better than we ever anticipated it could be. Our home now truly reflects the high style that we always wanted. Everyone who has seen the transformation has been completely 'wowed' at where we started and where we are now. We have had Chelsea design the interior and exterior of our home, as well as our professional office. We are looking forward to future projects!"
