Located in Clarkson Valley, this Kitchen and Living Room preserved the same motif they had possessed twenty years prior. The client was a recent widow who had lived here with her late husband, but had taken on her three young grandchildren, and desperately needed to rejuvenate her living area to better suit her new lifestyle. We achieved this transformation by replacing the peninsula with an island that concealed seating for two. The stove top was shifted to the island and a brand-new downdraft system was installed, making cooking and entertaining simultaneously a simple task. The fridge and double oven positions were switched to generate efficiency, and the durable, natural quartzite counter tops and custom farmhouse sink ensured viability. The two closets were replaced with a built in pantry wall and coffee bar, complete with a cooler, freezer, and ice station for beverages. Across from the beverage area, the existing window was pushed two feet into the garden, making way for a reading nook for one, or supplemental seating for the breakfast table. Instead of one small window above the sink surrounded by wall cabinets, we opted to line the counter top with three large windows which, in addition to the window seat, pulled the outdoors in and allowed nature to be the centerpiece of the home. With this new design, entertaining is a breeze, whether it's an evening book club or a house full of kids.

"Chelsea provided a complete kitchen, living room, and lower level redesign from space planning to selections to demolition and complete installation with accessories. She had fantastic ideas and always strove to understand what was important to me, functionally as well as aesthetically. We shopped together for appliances, tile, countertops, and hardware. She suggested lighting options that were outstanding! When she knew which direction I wanted to go, she searched high and low to find compatible options. When I grew tired of making decisions, she made them for me based on my parameters and it has resulted in the absolutely stunning kitchen of my dreams (while remaining a practical and useful kitchen for me and my grandchildren). My home backs to woods and she suggested windows to the countertops and every time my family walks into the room, we feel like we are apart of nature and we love it!" The entire project was very well managed! I was impressed with her professionalism and design process. I could not be happier!"
