This Art Deco Condominium, built in 1913, was a bare beige wasteland before it was transformed into the modern-meets-vintage oasis it is today. The mix of the client's generally modern tastes with subtle pops of Mid-Century create a serene, and simple dwelling. The end goal was to create a space that could be used to entertain guests, while also being comfortable for a night at home in solitude. We accomplished this by incorporating movable furniture that was multi-functional and wouldn't over crowd the space. We began by painting the ceiling and fireplace in the Living Room a high gloss black to contrast with the pure white walls and new Art Deco inspired tiered crown molding. We selected a modern LED chandelier, and Lucite coffee table to make the space feel expansive. A bold turquoise added depth and character in the Sunroom, and a custom watercolor faux finish in the Foyer created a layered, colorful yet monochromatic, line of site through the shotgun style condo. Phase two of the Condo's remodel is currently in the works.
